During the few hours of transit at Rome and I was keen to have a glimpse of the Sistine Chapel and ventured onto the Vatican. Ambling along the corridors of the Vatican Museum is a very rewarding experience visually. The icing in the cake of course is the last stop, Sistine Chapel. Spent an hour just soaking up Michelangelo's ethereal murals registering them forever in my visual cortex as photography is not allowed only in this part of the museum...with good reasons of course. Just think of the impact of thousands of flashing cameras on the paintings which otherwise have withstood the test of times
