Chatris are dome shaped structures built on the funeral sites of distinguished individuals. While they look quite undistinguished from outside, the parabolic ceilings are profusely illustrated with extraordinary frescoes, inside. The most beautiful of them is in Parasmpura which is also the oldest. They depict scenes from the epics and it is an ethereal experience to view these extraordinary works of unknown painters.
